Art Skills : B/W Self Portraits

Using a variety of black and white media , my Art Skills class created three different self portrait images .

The group are on display on the third floor of the Barrack Building .

Print Collages

Using a single block and multiple color combinations and printing approaches , my 9 & 10th grade Printmaking class created some amazing pieces !

 These pieces and others are currently on display on the third floor of the Barrack building.

Printmaking in Action

9th and 10th grade students in my Printmaking class have been busy designing, carving and printing their blocks for their single block print assignment.

A variety of color and pattern combinations are being employed by the students. Each will complete 6 different variations using their printing block.

The prints look great !

Spring Flowers!

Creating Art Middle School students have been working on a drawing assignment the past week.

 We've been using chalk pastels and are now working with color pencils.

Floral arrangements are our subject for both sketching materials.

 They're doing a great job ! A talented group !

New Mosaic Planters

After much work , two (of six) mosaic planters were completed and installed this week.

Students created tiles based on certain themes : such as floral , birds , plants etc.

Glass tile was used as a ground surface in between the handmade tiles.

These are at the front entrance of the Athletic Building. More will be coming soon!

Layered Prints

Printmaking class for 9th and 10th graders is in full swing. Students have finished up a series of experimental Layered / Textured Prints.

Blocks made using found objects , plastic stamps and rubber block print blocks were used over a

 monotype ground.

The pieces are on display in the main JBHA building. Come check them out -- as their surfaces are richer in person ! 

Trees ! MS Crafts

Middle school Decorative Crafts students have been busy working on their Tree sculptures for inclusion in this week's "Yom" holiday celebrations.

The Tree sculptures , which started out as actual tree branches attached to a wood base , were transformed into individualized pieces  that celebrate the state of Israel .

As always , students put their "all" into the projects and had a fun time !
